Global labour markets are undergoing massive change that will deeply affect the lives of working Canadians. Yet, Canada’s skills development infrastructure is simply not equipped to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

Ilse Treurnicht, former CEO of MaRS Discovery District and member of the Advisory Council on Economic Growth is rallying all parts of the Canadian economy to adapt to – and lead – the unprecedented changes in work and the workforce.

She is the co-author of the just-released report on Canadian skills development in a disrupted world. The report concludes that it is time to fundamentally rethink how we equip Canadians for the work dynamics of the future. Meeting this challenge will require a system-wide approach, and active collaboration between employers, citizens, educational institutions, and governments.
